Romeo Anghelache - curriculum vitae
- Work experience:
- 2008: available for public research projects on similar topics
- 2006 – 2007: knowledge management specialist - IAEA, Vienna, Austria
-
designed and implemented a few open-source search engines and their interfaces (based on Lucene.NET):
-
curated metadata for the Fast-Reactors related items available in INIS
-
designed and implemented an accurate archival method for a web crawling project: NuArch
- 2005 – 2006: research consultant with Max-Planck Institute for Gravitation Physics, Golm/Berlin, Germany; EDPSciences, Les Ulis, France and Design Science, Long Beach, CA, U.S.A.
- tuned Hermes as a LaTeX to XML converter/translator
- trial conversion of a set of arXiv articles
- 2002 – 2005: research programmer, Max-Planck Institute for Gravitation Physics, Golm/Berlin, Germany
- designed and implemented a semantic XML+MathML+Unicode authoring and e-publishing software tool for scientific articles authored in LaTeX containing mathematics: Hermes, a software prototype in the MoWGLI research project, E.U. funded, IST programme
-
2000 – 2002: research associate, psycholinguistics, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.A.
- constructed a validating grammar for the CHILDES corpora of annotations in CHAT format, in collaboration with prof. Brian MacWhinney;(NSF funded TalkBank project)
- built the CHAT XML-Schema vocabulary, the richest structural part of the Talkbank schema
- built a CHAT parser/translator to XML and exported the CHILDES corpora (about 10000 files, in about 26 different languages, containing structured psycholinguistic annotations) to the Talkbank ontology. The entire new collection of files was validated by the Talkbank schema.
-
1999 – 2000: post-doctoral research associate, physical chemistry, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.A.
- built a statistical simulator of the 2D parking model (NSF funded research project)
- 1990 – 1999: physicist researcher, National Institute of R&D for Technical Physics, Iaşi, Romania.
- preparation and properties optimization of high-Tc superconducting ceramics (HTSC)
- designed, built the hardware and programmed digital acquisition systems
- built internal statistical processing software for the data acquired
- programmed and performed Monte Carlo studies on statistical models of vortices in mixed state of HTSC
